We are fundraising for our upcoming Youth March on Trump Towers in NYC and the Syracuse Youth Huddle Rally for National Gun Violence Awareness month (wear orange)--both in June--and to prepare our youth to take part in National Youth Move Huddles and events across the country.
The NAN National Youth Move Huddle brings together young people on a monthly or bi-weekly basis to discuss solutions to some of their most pressing issues and then put their formulated ideas into action. Youth Move Huddle has been pivotal in creating spaces for young people to organize around issues that directly impact them.
A key tactic that is employed by the Huddle is the cultivation of positive peer pressure. The greatest potential influence of young people is arguable their peers. The Huddle provides a youth led environment where youth receive guidance on the development and implementation of ideas on how to stop gun violence, improve access to employment, become an entrepreneur, and improve urban education among other things.
