Volunteer trip to Ghana

Hi, I’m Hannah Rogers, I’m 15 and I am a Year 10 student at Weydon School in Farnham. I'm going to Ghana in April 2020 with my school and the charity, Partner Schools Worldwide. We will be working with the Weydon Partner Schools: Dwabor MA School and Ayensudo Islamic School, which are located in 2 different communities. I need to raise funds for the trip, which costs £2,400.
I am therefore going to Walk the Wight on 12th May which is a distance of 26.5 miles (equivalent of a marathon which goes from Bembridge to The Needles), starting at 6am I hope to complete the walk in 10 hours. Many Ghanaian children are required to walk miles just to attend school every day so doing the Walk the Wight really resonates with me. I would be delighted if you could sponsor me, every little helps!
In Ghana we will be helping improve the lives of disadvantaged children promoting literacy, numeracy and hygiene practices among young Ghanaian children. Some of the tasks we will be undertaking are to run educational activities like helping children learn to read, share ideas with other volunteers to create new, fun activities and run hygiene awareness campaigns and basic first aid to help keep the children healthy. We will be painting murals and helping skilled craftsmen to construct playgrounds as well as a wealth of other activities and visits.
By sponsoring me you will have influenced many children’s lives by providing them with tools to learn, work and play and you will have reached out of the bottom of your hearts to provide the money I need to travel to Ghana and helped me on my journey to make a small difference to the world.
