My name is Sylus and I am a transgender man. I have struggled all my life to find peace with my body and with how I am perceived, and realizing that I was experiencing this discomfort because I'm actually a man was one of the most peaceful experiences of my life. I know who I am, now.
However, my body does not align with that, and so only a part of the work is done. I have always had a large bust, and as I continue my medical transition on HRT and my face and voice become more masculine, my chest continues to present a constant problem in my gender expression.
Recently, coping with having a large chest I do not want has become an unlivable condition for me. For my well-being and to achieve peace with my body, they must be removed.
This GoFundMe will track my effort to raise money for the actual surgery, plus travel and recovery costs, as the surgeon I have selected is based out of Miami. The surgery is very expensive, and I will be out of work roughly two months.
I do have steady work, however with daily costs of living, I am barely making enough to save up any money. With my chest becoming an increasingly heavy burden on my psyche, I am left with very few options. Raising the money myself was my plan, but GFM has become my best shot at actually getting this done.

Update 5/14/22:
After much deliberation over the state of the world and my wellbeing, my partner has applied for a loan for the rest of the surgery amount. I am thrilled to announce we were approved!
I never wanted to go into debt to pay for this surgery- that was the whole point of this GFM- but the state of the world and my inability to thrive in this current body configuration have pushed us to make this decision. I will leave the GFM up for now, because while our goal is met, I will still have to pay off that loan. If you would like to help me pay it, you are under no obligation to help, but every little bit is appreciated.
