Sydney's College Tuition & Housing
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Sydney Shiotani and I'm raising money for my college tuition and housing at Rutgers University. I am eligible for a $5500/year student loan, but just tuition & housing is $52,000/year! My parents and I have saved some money, and I will continue to apply for scholarships, but I need more help. I would love to minimize my debt and prevent having to take out too many student loans. I worked hard to get good grades and test scores throughout high school. I just graduated from high school with a 4.2 GPA. I was honored with the following awards:
Valedictorian
AP Scholar Award
English Language Arts Achievement Award
California Scholarship Federation
Superintendents High Honor Award
Best Female Actor Theatre Award
I decided to further my skills as a performing artist because not only is it my passion, but I believe that the performing arts is important in our world. Performing arts allows us to be creative and provides a place for us to escape the stress that we all have. I'm so grateful to have been accepted to the BFA Acting program at Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts! The program accepts only 20 students and is much more affordable than other schools costing $72,000 per year!
One of my goals is to increase the visibility of strong leading roles for women and for Asian American performers. I also write and direct and plan to create my own content.
I would appreciate any financial help you can offer. Any dollar amount helps. Thank you for your love and support!
