Sydney (Squid) Battles B.A.L.L. Leukemia

Adam and Lyndsey Leandro are loving parents of two children, Sydney and Jack.

This past Easter, April 12th 2020, Sydney who is now 5 years old had not been feeling well. It got to the point that later in the afternoon they became very concerned and ended up taking her to the ER. From the results of her blood work, St. Luke’s Hospital had her transported, by ambulance, to Boston Children’s Hospital. The news the Leandro family received, that night, was news we all fear. Sydney has cancer in her blood. The next few days were filled with more tests, blood transfusions and a bone marrow test which ultimately confirmed Sydney has B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Let me tell you a little about Sydney. She is a preschooler looking forward to starting kindergarten this Fall. She is super, super smart and sweet with a bit of an old soul. She’s in tune with people and animals and their feelings. She’s a little fair-haired Snow White, believing that all birds and animals come to see JUST her! That is why she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up. Sydney is also the best big sister to Jack and loves him so much. She also loves her dog, Boomer. Some of her favorite things to do, along with her Tap & Ballet classes, are drawing, coloring, anything artsy (She gets that from her mommy), and learning to spell everyone's name. She wants to be with Daddy outdoors doing whatever he's doing, planting a garden with Mommy, going on walks through the woods and playing with her cousins. She is full of life and a joy to be around.

I am starting this Go Fund Me because Sydney has a very long and difficult battle ahead, in which her Mommy and Daddy will be in with her 100% of the time! She will be in the hospital for at least a month and that is only the beginning of a two year plan to battle this cancer. I am asking for assistance for the Leandros during this challenging time. This will allow them to concentrate on what’s truly important…helping Sydney beat this!! This will affect them financially as the focus will veer from work to being there for Sydney.
