Sydney LaBuhn’s recovery from addiction
Donation protected
My niece, Sydney has struggled with addiction since she was only 14 years old. She finally hit her “rock bottom” this summer when she became homeless on the streets of Austin. My family answered her call for help and took her home. For many weeks we cared for her while she went through withdrawals and detox. Sydney has a long way to go on her healing journey with many layers of trauma to work through. We have moved her into an amazing recovery community in Smithville, Tx called Serenity Star. It is a home that facilitates sober living. Sydney is hopeful that if she completes a three month program there she will be able to get a job and start a new sober life.
I do not know how hard Sydney will fight for her sobriety, or if she will succeed, but we’d like to give her this opportunity to try. This is her first time in a addiction recovery program since her father’s death in 2014. Your prayers and contributions are deeply appreciated as we continue to provide for Sydney’s therapies and healthcare, as well as basic needs of food, shelter, and clothing. This will be the one and only time we will raise funds for her.
