My name is Dr. Sameh Elbasyouni, a medical doctor serving in one of Gaza’s hospitals. I write this message not only as a physician, but as a father, a son, and a survivor.

During the most recent war on Gaza, I tragically lost several members of my family. Our home was completely destroyed. Now, I live with the remaining members of my family in a makeshift tent, under conditions that are unbearable—no electricity, no clean water, no proper shelter, and no basic means of survival.

While I have dedicated my life to saving others in the hospital, I now find myself in desperate need of help. I never imagined I would have to ask—but today, I have no other choice.
