I am homeless and living in my truck at 62 years old. Living with my mother who now has passed, I found myself homeless after a family dispute. I've been homeless for the pass 5 years. I moved into a motel doing maintenance work then moved into my truck after the work was done the owner told me I had to pay $350 a week to stay any longer. It is hard living in my 19 year old vehicle. It gets cold in my truck as the heating element is broken. It costs $800 to fix. If I had $800 I'd be in a motel and that wouldn't last long. I go over to Branch in Rio Grande the warming center to get warm and eat. I'm able to pay for gasoline and insurance from my small disability check. I shower when I get money for a motel room but that's not guaranteed. If a homeless shelter was made available to residence of Cape May County I would go but the county does not have one. In addition to being homeless I have to get knee replacement surgery and I have gout. I cant get surgery till I have a place to live I can't have them cut me open and continue to live outside.  If I get enough money I'm going to get a place. I would be very appreciative and thankful for any help I can get. Thank you for taking the time  to read my story.
