2019年5月，「取消獨立關稅區，反擊中共」彷彿天荒夜譚。嗰陣我地香港人仲未有同中共攬炒嘅決心。
一年過去，我經歷過一丁友開始招兵買馬，提出攬炒，集合到全球團隊，靠無數手足力量一齊破局破足一年。
當日第一陣攬炒攻勢，其中一封信就係寄俾美國國務卿Pompeo。係，我地係草根，唔係政治明星，但無論機會幾渺茫我地都願意試，願意咬緊牙關堅持。
念念不忘，必有迴響。
2020年5月，國安法兵臨城下，但我地香港人已經準備好攬炒。天助自助者，琴晚國務卿 Pompeo 亦措辭強硬，直言香港自治已死，全面制裁即將降臨。
《攬炒論》講求先死而後生，一破一立。
美國決定取消香港關係法，令我地重光派勢如破竹；另一方面，我地要開始準備捱過大破，繼而大立嘅時代。
謹此 懇請世界各地手足信任支持「攬炒團隊」，為漫漫長夜後嘅大立做準備。

Stand with Hong Kong — “Rise From the Ashes” Crowdfunding Campaign
Back in May 2019, few would find it credible to suggest the US might withdraw Hong Kong’s special trade status in response to China’s encroachment on the city’s autonomy. What now seems a necessary step was too dramatic or even frightful for many Hongkongers to contemplate merely 12 months ago.
It has been a tremendously difficult year for Hongkongers and our allies globally. Our team of volunteers began with a simple idea — to defend our home against China’s attacks on our way of life, freedom, and aspirations for democracy. It seems surreal that one person’s indignation at how the anti-extradition protests were handled last June would grow into a global advocacy movement on behalf of Hongkongers.
As a grassroots organisation, we have little illusion about our chance of success. Activism isn’t our trade. However, we simply refuse to let Hong Kong succumb to tyranny. We try anything and everything; we soldier on. Incidentally, one of our earliest efforts was a letter addressed to the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
Seek, and ye shall find.
Here we are in May 2020. As the Chinese Communist Party bulldozes over “One Country, Two Systems” to impose a National Security Law on our city, many more Hongkongers are ready for the fight. Secretary Pompeo certified last night that Hong Kong is no longer autonomous from China. A reckoning is coming.
The looming prospect of the 1992 United States-Hong Kong Policy Act being repealed is a watershed moment for those of us who believe that a new Hong Kong can only emerge from disrupting our fast-deteriorating status quo.
Phoenixism is but a simple idea — it is only after being cleansed by fire that a phoenix can rise from the ashes. It is not revolutionary fervour, romanticism, or nihilism. It is based on a clear-eyed assessment that CCP’s stranglehold on Hong Kong has grown too tight. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Both Hong Kong and its people will have to endure much turbulence and sacrifice before we reclaim our rightful place in the world, as an open, free, and autonomous Hong Kong.
We urge our fellow Hongkongers and our friends from all around the world to support “Fight For Freedom. Stand With Hong Kong”. We are preparing for the long, dark night ahead -– and the renaissance that follows.

Cost estimates for our future operations*:
If we reach 800k USD:
The fund will support a range of initiatives for another 12 months including international advocacy (including US, UK, EU, and the Asia Pacific), global rallies and promotional materials etc., when our current fund runs out.
If we reach 1.6M USD:
The fund will support a range of initiatives for another 24 months including international advocacy (including US, UK, EU, and the Asia Pacific), global rallies, promotional materials, etc., when our current fund runs out.
If we reach 1.75M USD:
The fund will support a range of initiatives for another 24 months and two print advertisements (US/UK), and/or video production, subject to the international environment at the time.
If we reach over 1.75M USD:
Subject to the progress of our initiatives and the political environment, a certain fund will be reserved for more strategic projects (eg. local Hongkonger/cultural offices overseas, citizen-centric ‘House of Commons’, etc), and other campaigns such as international lobbying and preparing promotional materials in the long term.**

Overview of our advocacy campaign since July 2019
Since our first crowd-funding, we have organized 50+ rallies across 12 countries to raise global awareness on the challenges facing HongKongers. We supported efforts from our volunteers and allies to bring HongKongers’ perspectives to politicians in 10+ cities; produced 10+ short films; written 10+ reports; and placed numerous ads on international print and media. We have also invited and facilitated the visit of international politicians and leading human rights activists to Hong Kong to better understand the situation on the ground.

We are working on sharing the achievements of our volunteers and allies, whose activities were supported by the two rounds of funding. This will be published on https://standwithhk.org/activities/.
