As most of you may know Saundra and Alex blessed us with a sweet baby boy on October 3rd, 2017.

Baby Raymond was born early Tuesday morning, and before we knew he was swept off to the NICU with concerns of a few possible complications. All we knew at that point was that his chest did not fully develop, he was born with cleft feet and possible paralysis of his face. After many stressful days of him being in the NICU and numerous tests, the doctors of Marian Medical Hospital were finally able to give us a diagnosis.
Baby Raymond has been diagnosed with two rare syndromes that seem to go hand in hand...
Moebius Syndrome and Poland Syndrome
Moebius Syndrome is a non-progressive craniofacial/neurological disorder that manifests itself primarily in facial paralysis. It has caused baby Raymond to have difficulty swallowing and latching on to a bottle. As of now, he will remain in the NICU for 4 - 6 weeks with a feeding tube and working with speech and physical therapists to help guide him to eating on his own. If he does not progress, he will more than likely be transferred to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera for further care.
Poland syndrome is often found with Moebius syndrome. Poland syndrome is a rare birth defect characterized by underdevelopment or absence of the chest muscle (pectoralis) on one side of the body.
With heavy hearts we know it's going to be a long journey with baby Raymond. He will need special care, speech therapists, physical therapists, along with a few other specialists in hopes of him having a happy and bright future. The doctors at Marian are hopeful and know with the right efforts little baby Raymond may even be playing sports one day... with the right protection of course. ;)
With all this special care, comes the financial aspect. We are trying to help Saundra and Alex in as many ways as possible which is why I am creating this page. Any support helps with their long journey to recovery of sweet baby Ray. <3
