SWEET 16 in ICU @ UC Davis Med Ctr

After a malicious hit-and-run, my 15 year old cousin was ran over three times by a vehicle. Intentionally.  The driver of the vehicle sped off leaving her to die in the streets.  She suffered several broken bones, split liver, a separated shoulder, road rash, and more. The doctor said if they would have ran her over one more time her entire arm would have been decapitated and possible death.  She spent three days in ICU and is now in ACU at UC Davis Medical Center.  Today, she will awake, spending her Sweet 16 birthday in the hospital and in severe physical and emotional pain.  We are blessed to have her with us.  I asked her what she wanted for her birthday. At first she didn't speak. I knew exactly what she was thinking and feeling...what we all would be thinking and feeling...to not be in the hospital, bruised, hurting, broken bones, and emotionally torn. I said to her...besides not having to be here, what would make you smile? What have you been thinking about? What have you been wanting for a while? ...Finally, she said an IPhone 7 or 8 and then she smiled.  LOL. Something so small for someone so strong.  Getting ran over three times and the Lord brought her through.  Through all the pain she is strong. So I thought if we could all give a little support along with some words of encouragement that we could manage to get her that IPhone and make her SWEET 16 SPECIAL for her. Help to remind her that kindness and love in the world still exist and hatred and malice will not prevail. Let her memory of today be more than... Let's get together and make her birthday wish come true. Please and THANK YOU!
