Sweet New Charm to Old Mesquite

In 2012, I moved from Chicago, Illinois to Dallas, Texas with my 2 children, a couple of suitcases and about a hundred bucks. I didn't know what to expect when I first got off of the plane because I had never been to Texas. I've been operating a successful home bakery here for about 4 years now. The same challenges we faced 4 years ago are the same obstacles ahead of us today. We've sat in numerous banks and talked with a handful of investors and if we weren't willing to give up a large stake of our company, we couldn't get any help. We didn't have many options but we knew that we couldn't give up. So here we are, reaching out to our community for support. We've invested about $10,000 so far into web design, business cards, marketing, equipment and supplies to get our patisserie started. But we're still about $35,000 away from our goal. We are looking to open up in historic Downtown Mesquite Square. We want to really be a representation of how Mesquite has grown and how diverse our residents are. We've been speaking with the city and the owner of several potential spaces and we have found one that is perfect for us in the square. The funds would be used as working capital to cover operating expenses for when we first open our doors. Our goal is to secure the property by August 2021 and be open to the public by  October 2021. We would be so grateful for any support we receive! This has been a dream of mine for so long and now we can make a positive change for not only our family, but for our community. Being able to provide jobs to marginalized individuals and being able to support local farmers and businesses in our community is our end goal. This would mean the world to us.
