Sweet Mary’s Medical Fund

We found Mary wandering a busy intersection over a month ago, she was not wearing a collar and doesn't have a microchip. We took every possible avenue to try and locate her family through social media, contacting shelters and posting flyers, but no one came forward. Mary appeared to be well fed, clean and was completely housebroken. She had obviously been someone’s pet and we now believe she was dumped near or at that busy intersection to fend for herself. The rescues we contacted were unable to take Mary and instead of surrendering her to a shelter we decided we would help her find a new loving family.

In order to prepare Mary for adoption we took her to the vet for a check up and all the necessary vaccinations. Everything on the surface appeared healthy, but unfortunately Mary’s blood work came back as heart worm positive, a condition that is fatal if left untreated. Considering her happy and overall healthy appearance, this diagnosis came as quite a shock to us. We were given three different care options for Mary’s heart worm treatment. Each option has it’s own price tag, timeline and recovery rate. We would like to be able to give Mary the best chance possible and start treating her with the most effective option. This option is also the most expensive, but will  likely ensure Mary a full recovery and a chance at finding her forever home.

We are fully invested in helping Mary find the family she deserves, but having four dogs of our own, the extra expense of Mary’s  heart worm treatment is far greater than we can manage alone. The donation amount would cover the cost of the heart worm treatment that would ensure a quick and full recovery for Mary. The sooner we can raise the amount needed, the sooner we can begin Mary's treatment and prevent further damage to her heart.

Please consider helping Mary by donating to her heart worm treatment. She has a wonderful, playful and sweet spirit and she deserves a chance to experience life to the fullest.

We would be forever grateful, and so would Mary.

Thank you!

*Any amount remaining after Mary's treatment will be donated to Bi-State Pet Food Pantry.
