<div>Isla is 7 months old and this go fund me was suggested by the Peterborough Orthotics group.

<div>We recently found out she has Scaphocephaly after 5 counties referred us to Peterborough Orthotics Group for a scan. A corrective helmet is what has been prescribes as our best course of action at the moment. The biggest concern is that scaphocephaley can lead to cranial surgery and we really would like to try and avoid that at all costs. As a mother this is my worst nightmare.

<div>Scaphocephaly, or sagittal craniosynostosis, can lead to a variety of side effects, primarily due to the premature fusion of the sagittal suture. These effects can range from changes in head shape to more serious complications like increased intracranial pressure, developmental delays, and  cognitive or vision problems. It can lead to future cranial surgery. A cranial helmet is extremely crucial during this time to prevent brain damage, seizures, blindness etc.

<div>Without all the proper treatment, Islas brain will not be able to grow and function the way it needs to, that’s why this is so important. Isla is the sweetest happiest baby and has the most beautiful smile. I’m so upset that I am unable to cover the funds for this right now.

<div>We Have contacted different agency’s including Easter seals, social services, sickkids, our insurance, and scoured the internet for options but it doesn’t seem like there’s any sort of funding or help with this type of thing.
</div>
<div>With her being 7 months, they want her to have it as soon as possible to avoid any further side effects.
