SWE Abroad

Our SWE section has started a new program called “SWE Abroad” where members will travel overseas to promote women’s empowerment and STEM education. The objectives of this abroad trip are to push members to gain cultural awareness and to develop leadership skills in an environment outside their comfort zones. SWE members will plan and execute a week long volunteer trip at local empowerment centers for women ages 16-55 in Jodhpur, India. Members will run STEM activities and women’s empowerment workshops as well as help teach English and mathematics to encourage women in Jodhpur to continue to gain an education. The program will challenge attendees to enhance their leadership and people skills as well as gain self-confidence and a global perspective.
