I am writing on behalf of myself, a Koocanusa Village resident regarding an initiative to establish a playground for our community. After sitting on the KVCA Board of Directors, and the Strata board, I concluded the best way to achieve a park was to donate the park to the community. Obviously, I cannot do this on my own, and figure as a community of homeowners, together we can. What a game changer to the whole community this would be. (The photo displayed is the actual playground we will be building)

** I need to be clear, it doesn't matter to me where it will go, I'm just fundraising to build a playground for Koocanusa Village. there are other areas that are possibilities it can go.***

(If you have opinions on green spaces, the KVCA will be looking for volunteers, so put your name forward. ) Attached is an image outlining the 'proposed' playground design. To fund this project, we are requesting donations from residents that have homes already in the village. A contribution of $500 from each household would enable us to reach our goal. However, recognizing that some may not see the immediate need, we are seeking donations of $1000 from those able to contribute more, to cover any funding gaps.

We, the Binnion family will be trying to set an example with a $1000 donation, despite all our children being older and no longer using playgrounds. We sure hope you can follow our lead, or better yet, beat our donation.

We believe this playground will benefit all residents, fostering community spirit and providing a safe recreation area for children. And sparking new friendships and excitement for other children / teens to come to the lake knowing they have new friends and somewhere to hang out.

Upon completing this project, we plan to initiate a similar fundraising effort for a pickleball court.

We feel that after our fundraising, and hopefully reaching our goal of $50,000, we can then approach the developer to add to the coffer and maybe we can get that pickleball court sooner and / or basketball nets.
