On this years Veterans Day, we received the call that you pray you'll never get. Our closest friend, Harold Perry, took his own life in the early part of the day November 11th.
Born in San Jose, California, Harold is a veteran of the Marine Corps and served 4 years as an 3051 at Camp Lejeune, NC. The latter part of his contract he worked in the Provost Marshalls Office where he met my husband Tyler as he was in the ending part of his contract in the USMC, and I met him and his wife Kayla and their beautiful children.
Harold was hilarious, charismatic and easy to talk to. His wife Kayla is no exception. Harold and Tyler were nearly inseperable. It was clear that they were going to turn out to be more than just best friends, but brothers.
Harold was there for Tyler during his lowest lows, and as Tyler was there for Harold during his. Before Tyler got out of the Marines, Harold and Kayla asked us to have the honor to be their 3 childrens godfather and godmother. We accepted without a second thought. We are absolutely devastated that he is now gone. It's a loss that is indescribable.
Harold also has a loving mother Renee, father and brother Dante who will miss him beyond words. Harold has a great amount of family & friends in California that will miss him dearly as well.
Harold is survived by his wife Kayla, and three children Xxavier, Nohea and Jason.
The funds that are being raised are going directly to Kayla and the children for funeral arrangements, as well as to help Kayla and the kids stay on their feet so they can figure out the next step in life they are going to take.
