Jim and Anna Parker's Medical fund

This fund is to assist my mom and dad with their mounting medical expenses. In June of 2014 my dad was diagnosed with MDS (Myodysplastic Syndrom)-a blood cancer. All along he was told that a stem-cell transplant would be he best course of treatment. My dad began doing blood transfusion and getting ready for chemo and then ultimately preparing for the transplant process. Unfortunately, in November of 2014 my mom became sick. After months of not feeling well the hospital finally located a large metastasized tumor in her abdomen and she was ultimately diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. After surgery to remove her ovaries and the tumor my mom AND dad were doing chemo treatments-taking turns-for the next 6 months. My dad's transplant had to be pushed out until my mom's cancer was under control as he could not leave her to enter the hospital for the transplant process (which is approximately a month long) until she was done with treamment. Thankfully my mom's Petscan came back clear and at the beginning of August 2015 my dad entered the hospital for his transplant process. He was released on August 28 with a good prognosis.
Unfortunately, the medical expenses are mounting. While each of their treatments were paid for they are struggling now with the cost of the medications (anti-rejection medication is very expensive) as well as the special diet my dad requires. Most of you know that my parents live on Social Security exclusively and so the added expenses are causing a significant hardship. Any and all donations will help them get by and more importantly get the medication they need. Thanks for your donation!
