Suzy Slater’s final costs

My mom Suzy Slater was diagnosed with ALS and frontal lobe dementia in August 2019. ALS slowly paralyzes every muscle in your body with no cure or medication that can help. With only a little more than a year of symptoms, she is in the final stages of a very fast progressing form of ALS. She has continued to stay in good spirits, a lot of the time, throughout this past year. She lights up when my brother, me and my kids visit her and I know she understands how hard I have fought for her. She has put up a fight and even beat pneumonia, but her body is quickly failing her and her lungs can no longer keep up. Nothing breaks my heart more than watching my mom slip away from us. I have been by her side and made sure she has had the best care. I defend her wishes and stand up for her when she is questioned. I am her voice while she has none. I still, and always will, believe that something inside her was triggered when my dad died 3 years ago. I know her heart and soul are already with him. Her final wishes are to pass away with family and have her ashes spread out to sea. I have arranged to transport her to my grandmas (her mother) house, in Northern California, over the thanksgiving holiday so she can pass away surrounded by her family. With both of my parents soon to be gone, their life left behind has landed in my lap and any money donated here will go towards medical costs, cremation and funeral expenses for my mom. She is a daughter, a sister, a mother, a grandmother, an aunt, a niece, and a friend. She will be loved and missed every single day.
