I am planning to travel twice this summer to do Suzuki professional development training. I completed all of my Suzuki Book level training years ago in graduate school, but I find that I still need to do training to get new ideas and to re-kindle my passion for Suzuki music education. After attending a workshop or institute, I always return excited to try new ideas in my teaching.
In the past few years I've only done local training because of the prohibitive cost of travel for an institute. This summer I am not only attending the Suzuki conference in Minneapolis, but also planning to take a violin course, "Developing the Bow Arm from Twinkle through Mozart" at the Japan Seattle Suzuki Institute in Seattle. The costs of attending both are higher than anticipated, especially considering the costs of traveling and staying there.
Often I receive gifts at the end of the school year. While not necessary, these are always appreciated and make me feel valued. This year, in lieu of any of gifts, I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer to attend these Suzuki training events. Please find a rough outline of my anticipated expenses below.
Conference Expenses:
SAA Conference Fee - $265
Dalcroze Class - $160
MN Airfare -$236
Sharted room at the conference - $300
Food - $200
Institute Expenses:
Seattle Institute Course Fee - $635
Airfare - $450
Car Rental - $600
Lodging - $300
Food - $300
