Suzie Ayers Surgery Fund

Suzette Ayers has been suffering with stomach ailments and acid reflux since she was 16 years old. She learned how to cope with it by taking different acid reducer medications over the years. 

 

Then around July 2019 she started to get severe pain in her abdomen to which she went to the ER and they removed her gallbladder. Ever since then her stomach ailments only got worse. 

 

Fast forward to April 2020 and she had been throwing up almost daily since her gallbladder had been removed. 

 

She was admitted to Clovis Community Medical Center on Thursday April 16th severely dehydrated, malnourished and her blood sugar was in the low 30’s. The doctor had said she wouldn’t of made it if she had waited another day or two. After a long barrage of tests and scans they had found that Suzette had a tremendous amount of scar tissue and ulcers in her stomach, specifically at the base of her stomach where it entirely sealed itself shut. Not even water would pass through. And also because she couldn’t pass any food or liquids through it had continued to build up and rot in her stomach, that she unintentionally stretched her stomach to which the capacity it was holding when they pumped her stomach was over 3 liters worth of fluid. 

 

The doctors have decided the best course of action is to just remove the lower part of her stomach and small intestines. It will be a very risky, lengthy procedure that could take up to 6 hours to perform. As of writing this she has not had the surgery but will be needing quiet a few months to physically recover from this, learning how to eat and drink again.
