In memory of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, we want to establish the Suzanne Kesselman Endowment at the University of Rochester Medical Center- Pulmonary Hypertension Comprehensive Care Center; a fund that will live in perpetuity to help support this important research.

Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a rare, debilitating disease of the lungs that puts excess strain on the right side of the heart and can lead to right heart failure and death. Many people see multiple physicians before they receive an accurate diagnosis and appropriate care. The survival rate is less than three years for someone who is not receiving adequate treatment. The disease that took Suzanne from us very quickly, pulmonary veno-occlusive disease (PVOD), is a rare form of pulmonary hypertension caused by progressive blockage of the small veins in the lungs.
The only way to do this is to fund research for this devastating disease. The University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) is an accredited Pulmonary Hypertension Comprehensive Care Center in Rochester, NY. URMC received this accreditation from the Pulmonary Hypertension Association in recognition of excellence in diagnosis, research and clinical care for this complex disease.
The overall goal of Dr. White’s clinical research and bench laboratory is to provide better care to patients with PAH and his team actively contributes to clinical research in hopes of better therapies with drugs that are already available and with those yet to be approved.
