Please Help Me Help My Pets
I live in a very bad neighborhood. I live alone except for dogs and cats, whom I consider my family. Something happened about a week ago that truly makes me fear for my pets when I'm not home. The neighbor next to me was arguing with his roommates and I heard gunshots. Not long afterward, I saw a small fire had been started in his yard. Our houses are so close together and I’m so worried about my animals each day while I’m gone to work. I have been trying to find a remote job just so I can be home in case something happens but haven’t had any luck finding one that pays a livable wage.
I have been selling stuff online in the hopes of raising money to put a down payment on another house and sell the one I live in, but it has been an uphill battle. I deal with a chronic illness that prevents me from working an additional job, and quite frankly, I would worry about leaving my pets alone for an additional length of time.
