About Mabadiliko Intercultural Therapy (M.I.T)
We are a community focused mental health organisation providing intercultural trauma informed counselling and psychotherapy for adults 18 years and over. Although our doors are open to anyone who wishes to access the service, the focus of our work is for individuals within the African, Asian and Caribbean community effected by childhood, generational and racial trauma, sexual trauma and domestic abuse.

Statistics show that person's who are racialised (black and ethnic minorities) experience poorer mental health treatment and/or outcomes. We believe this is due to cultural and spiritual insensitivities within multidisciplinary mental health teams and services.

Our holistic approach to talking therapy truly holds the ‘person’ at the ‘center’ of their therapy by considering how one's culture influences mental health experiences. The Four Pillars of Mabadiliko Therapy (Culture, Ethnicity, Identity & Spirituality) form the framework of our approach.

We are raising funds to be distributed with immediate effect throughout the following areas:-
  • Sustainability for our premises to provide MIT services which are available face-to-face as well as online.
  • Culturally sensitive trauma informed therapy.
  • Cultural-diversity training for professionals and well-being workshops for the community

All of the above come at a cost, so we are raising funds for sustainability and expansion!

We appreciate you taking the time to understand and consider our mission and look forward to receiving your generous donations.

Thank you very much, from the M.I.T Team.
