Susie’s Coats has seen a substantial increase in need for warm apparel in our community since the first winter of 2006. As a child, Susan Perry was herself homeless and the recipient of a gently used coat. On her 50th birthday, in lieu of gifts, Susan Perry made the decision that she would like to collect 50 coats to distribute to those in need. Susan and her daughter held that initiative and realized they were unable to serve the community need and Susie’s Coats was born.
To date, Susie’s Coats, has collected and distributed over 20,000 warm apparel items, such as new and gently used coats, gloves and hats due to the generosity of family and friends. However, in the last several years, Susie’s Coats was unable to serve the growing need.
This Winter, Susie's Coats is partnering with The Salvation Army and Hannah's Socks to provide warm socks and warm coats to Northwest Ohio. Watch for the media release !
No amount is too small and all monies donated will be strictly used for the purchase of new coats, hats, gloves and scarves for men, women and children. One important goal is to only provide brand new coats for children as they are so deserving!
A donation in the amount of $25.00 will provide a new coat, hat and gloves for a child and a donation of $35.00 will provide warm apparel for an adult.
Please help us uphold our Mission Statement: Susie’s Coats is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of others by providing warm apparel during the winter months.
With appreciation for helping us make a difference! Susie
