Hi, my name is Meghan, and we as a family, are setting up this fundraiser for our daughter and sister, Susan Perry, and her 3 children Thomas (17), Lucy (16) and Joesph (14). Susan had a stroke 4 weeks ago. While investigating the stroke, doctors found some abnormalities on Susan’s pancreas and liver. As a result, Susan was diagnosed stage 4 pancreatic cancer with liver metastasis. This is not Susan’s first fight with cancer. In 1992, Susan fought acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and had 3 years of chemotherapy to survive. Susan is a single mum with 3 teenage children. She has been a school teacher in the Blacktown area for over 30 years. For the last year, she has been a full time casual teacher. She went to casual teaching to help be around while one of her sisters was going through her cancer treatment. As she is a casual, she has no access to and sick leave or benefits. This financial situation is making Susan’s health situation even more stressful. Susan’s prognosis is not good. Her cancer is not curable and the doctors are hoping that the chemotherapy she will start, will add some months on to her very short life expectancy at this point. We as a family, who love our daughter and sister so much, are asking for your help. We are asking for help, through financial donations, to help Susan pay rent, bills, medical expenses and support her children, so she can focus on the second fight of her life. Our family sincerely thanks anyone who has shared and donated to this fundraiser.
