Susan's 1st Children's Book

Donation protected
Hi Gang!
I am raising money to publish my first Christian children's book. It's title is "A Case for Unicorns" and it follows an adventure that some of my nieces, nephews and I have with a leprechaun by the name of Finnegan. Finnegan is determined to bring back the unicorns that were lost during the time of Noah. To do it, he will have to travel the long, dangerous pathway to Heaven to bring his case before God , along with the help of a few humans. How will God answer?

This is a story about God's ultimate redemption of creation and it summarizes the story of the Bible as we hear about the fall of man, visit the story of Noah, discuss the price of salvation (in Jesus' death) and bring our case before God in the throneroom of Heaven.

I have had several fellow Christians review this book and even had some editors from Westbow Press (a division of Zondervan) review it and it received rave reviews. Now it's time to get it in print.

Ultimately, I would like to donate 20% of the proceeds from the sale of each book to create a college fund for the mentally disabled/impaired if I can find a good charity to work with. As most of you already know, I am a recovered schitzophrenic and my recovery is considered a "miracle" by my doctors. The fact that I have regained my ability to write is a gift from God and I owe Him no small amount of gratitude. I believe that this book helps to convey the story of the Gospel in a sweet way for children to understand, even though it is a fiction work, and that is my gift to God (and to you.) The first step is to get it in print and that's where you come in. My initial publishing costs will total about $4,300, which includes publishing, marketing and website set up, not to mention the payment of my illustrator Will Jamara.  I hope to raise this amount in 6 weeks which is about July 1st.

If you had told me 9 years ago when I was homeless and living in a shelter for the mentally ill that I would be publishing my own book I would have shrunk back in shame and disbelief. This book is more than just a fun, whimsical tale that I will share with children everywhere,; it is a personal victory and a dream accomplished.

Thank you for the many ways you've all supported me through the difficult years and a big, sincere bear hug of thanks for helping me achieve this book. ~Susan
