Medical Fund for Susan Plean

St Lucie Christian Academy is reaching out for your help. Susan Plean, our dedicated and caring director has undergone extreme hardship this past year. In October of 2016 Susan endured the sudden and tragic loss of her husband, leaving her to care for their two disabled children. Susan faced the pain and heartache of the loss with strength and grace. She is a strong and faithful woman who gives with all her heart. Susan continued to be a light to everyone who met her, caring for all the students at St Lucie Christian Academy and being a wonderful mother to her children. Just as she was beginning to heal emotionally from this painful loss, Susan began not feeling well. She suffered from horrible headaches and uncontrollable nose bleeds. Susan went to the doctor but was not prepared for what they were about to tell her. Susan was diagnosed in late December with a meningioma, a tumor of the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord. The tumor is pressing on her brain and surrounding nerves making her daily life very painful. The doctors have told Susan that the tumor needs to be removed as soon as possible, to avoid permanent or life threating damage.
Susan’s main concern as a mother is to able to continue to care for her two disabled children and their medical needs. Her daughter Ashley suffers from Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, a genetic disorder that affects the connective tissue that supports the skin, bones, blood vessels, and other organs. Ashley’s disability requires constant care and is a tremendous financial responsibility. Susan has made things work for her children with great sacrifice. However, they barely make ends meet every month and Susan’s condition makes it nearly impossible to continue to survive.
Currently Susan does not have the financial means to pay for her portion of the surgery or to be without an income for the anticipated two month recovery.  Any amount of help can make a difference for Susan. We thank you so much for your donations. God Bless.
