Susan Larson Medical/Housing Fund

This has been a very trying year for our friend. As you might have read last week, we were going to try to conduct a silent auction for her, but now, her needs have increased due to a pretty significant change in her personal life, so a GoFund me seems necessary now. Susan has been unemployed since April and since then, has been experiencing several medical issues, some of which were complications from her double mastecomty/reconstruction back in 2010. A big move into her house in May, two weeks of jury duty, immediately after that finding out about two medical issues that resulted in three surgeries in July followed by several weeks of recupertion. She did have several job interviews and was a finalist for a handful of positions and then started a job, and on that day, her brother passed away. During her bereavement leave, she discovered that her abdominal wall tore yet again. - only worse. This time, the surgery recovery period is longer and is able to do much less than before. The recovery period is three months with strict no lifting (over 10 lbs.), bending or squatting requirements. Her surgeon also told her she needed as stress-free an environment as possible in order to heal properly and financial stressors aren't conducive to that. She is also going through some personal family issues that are adding to her financial costs. So... we are asking for help paying the rent, a new set of tires (hers are bald), utilities and insurance, for three months. Nothing above and beyond that. But, as you can imagine three months of those costs add up rather quickly. This is a difficult time. She is extremely sad, a bit scared, worried and feeling very humbled, yet ready to take all of this on - her friends know her resolve. This woman has been through it all and bounced back like nobody’s business. She doesn’t ask for help FOR HERSELF - EVER. But, SHE needs it now, more than ever. If you can spare anything, anything will do. And, if you can’t, send her a message of encouragement. She’d appreciate that, too.
