Susan H. Ramsey Outdoor Classroom

Tax deductible
Friends of the late Susan Sara Howard Ramsey, a dedicated Social Worker who devoted her career to helping children through Child Protective Service, are setting up a fund to honor the life of the child advocate by dedicating the patio classroom at the San Augustine Child Advocacy Center in her honor.

Susan, who lived from 1950-2002, was a loving mother of three children, Vanessa Ramsey Heinold, William Charles "Charlie" Ramsey, and John Andrew Ramsey. Her compassion for others and her unselfish devotion to the field of Social Work earned her the Child Welfare League of America's Outstanding Service Award in 2000 after she helped more than 70 high-need children in the Texas foster care system to be adopted by forever families, providing adoption training to each family. The heart of Susan's life-long work still flourishes throughout East Texas.

Susan was truly a remarkable woman, and her generous spirit lives on through the many lives that she touched.  The newly dedicated Children’s Services Building of San Augustine County has the perfect space to continue her legacy, with an outdoor patio area ready to welcome new generations into a safe haven of comfort and care.

The San Augustine Garden Club is supporting the creation of the Susan Howard Ramsey Outdoor Classroom, and will pass all funds directly to the project, while ensuring that your donation is fully tax deductible.
Funds will be used to provide shade and furnishings so that the workers and volunteers with Child Protective Services (CPS), Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC), Texas A&M AgriLife, and other community service groups can offer a warm and inviting place to grow and learn.

Thank you for supporting these efforts to make the world a better place for our children.  Your help is truly appreciated.
