In 2013, Susan French was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer. After surgery and radiation treatments the doctors told her she was cancer free but could not guarantee for how long. She went about her life working hard and taking care of her family rarely speaking of her illness. Unfortunately the cancer reappeared in October 2016 and the diagnosis was terminal. Her Oncologist only gave her a few months to live, but one year and 3 months later she has beat the odds. Susan wants to be able to spend as much time as possible being a Wife, Mother and Grandmother to her 2 beautiful Grandchildren. Her Daughter Rachel and 3 year old Granddaughter Laila live with Susan and her husband Tommy. Susan is truly the glue that holds the family together. Trying to imagine their life without her is simply heart breaking.
Recently, her cancer has spread and one of the tumors is blocking her left kidney from emptying into her bladder. She needs to have a stent which has to be replaced every 3 months or so. Since she no longer has insurance and won't be able to get it until October 2018, everything must be paid up front. $1100 to $1500 for the doctor. $2300 to $2500 for the surgery center and $1200 to $1400 for the anesthesiologist each time she has the procedure. Susan will be eligible for insurance coverage in October but that means she will need the stent replaced at least 2, probably 3 times before she is insured. I'm starting this GoFundMe page for Susan because she truly needs help and if you know Susan, you realize she is the last person that will ask for help. The doctor has mentioned to her that if she can pay cash it might entitle her to a 15% discount which would be helpful.
