Matt Simmers here.
Nearly 25 yrs. ago I met a woman by the name of Gail.
As time rolled on our relationship grew. After 5 years we were married.
Life was good until a car accident derailed our path forward.
Having a new baby, limited income and poor credit we struggled over the years.
In 2017, Gail was diagnosed with stage
4 metastatic breast cancer. It had migrated to her spine, lymph nodes and liver.
Over the next 3 years, Gail underwent multiple rounds of chemo. In June of this year we were forced to move after
Somehow in the process of moving Gail caught sepsis ( blood poisoning )
It nearly killed her. After 10 days on ICU at Morton Plant hospital she came
home with hospice.
Having family and friends over seemed
to bolster her will to go on.
Suddenly overnight on November the 2nd this year...Gail passed peacefully.
Alexa and I are now in the process of
attempting to continue with life without her.
We have seen each other everyday for
25 years but now we need to fill the
large void created by her death.
Emotionally drained and financially strapped we try to make it through1 day at a time.
Some may say that it's too soon to start this page but it's necessary.
The future seems bleak financially.
The loss of Gail's income puts us at risk
Alexa is still furloughed due to covid.
I'm 63...who will hire me..?
So...We are hoping that we will be able
to make it through 2021 intact.
Any type of help is appreciated more than you might expect...
Again...a heartfelt thank you to all.
