Survivor was found by a passer by and the police , hit by a car and left . Luckily the lady who found her scooped her up and took her to where she thought she would be safe and looked after. Sadly that wasnt the case she was thrown into another pound and left in pain. They had told her she had medical assistance but the lady didnt believe them so she followed up on her and much to her disgust she was left in a cage dying. She reached out to us, and we agreed to take over her care! Within a a matter of hours we had her at our trusted vet clinic where she was put onto an IV drip to rehydrate her , pain medication and Xrays were done . She remained at this clinic for several days before heading off to a specialist orthopedic surgeon who was hopefully going to fix her .
She had a fractured hip in two places… the bone was shattered into small pieces it's the worst case the vet had ever seen. Her spine was affected… she has leishmaniasis, ehrlichiosis, and anaplasmosis… she had a urinary tract infection, pyelonephritis… Although the surgery was a success there isnstill a chance of nerve damage only time will tell . Once she had the surgery she was then transferred back to our vets to remain under there medical care for several days. She was then discharged and is now with our amazing medical foster home where she is getting everything she needs. Sadly it is evident that Survivor has been through alot , shes absolutely terrified of humans , shes quite shut down and fearful . Its going to take many months to get her to a place where she can hopefully feel comfortable with humans.
We are still waiting on the invoice from the clinic where she had hydration , pain meds & xrays , however I have attached the invoice for the surgery and as soon as the other one is received we will attach it to the fundraiser.
Survivor has an extremely long road ahead of her , and wr are asking our amazing PDRC community to support her on this journey..
