Surviving her fathers suicide

Donation protected

My 23 Year old daughter’s father Steven was a handsome, loving and sweet soul of a person. He battled depression and mental illness since he was 10 Years old. He saw his father commit suicide and from that day on his mind started developing with PTSD and trauma. He got better for 7 years and had two beautiful baby girls, where he had some of the best times of his life. However he was always faced with how much he wanted and HAD to hide the pain he was tormented with for years from his children. Years later Steve had a brain aneurism and then a stoke/ seizure under the knife as they were giving him brain surgery and had 50/50% chance he would come back to us.
The doctor hit a crucial nerve in his brain, causing him to loose his right side of his brain; Affecting his right arm, his speech, thoughts turned his life was turned upside down.

The doctors prescribed him many pills, to the point where he did not know what he was doing or HOW to take them properly. They sent him home knowing his brain was constantly in a disabled, sad and confused state.

The last few months Steve had been reaching out to the hospitals, local friends and even landlord begging and crying for help with a big bag of pills in his hand saying he needs help and doesn’t know what to do with all of the pills the doctors had prescribed him. (MULTIPLE TIMES he did this) On top of that, the pills were making his brain diminish even further. His doctor knew what his state of mind was… And kept sending more pills; Left alone to decipher and administer them to himself. He wanted to get off the pills because they made him feel horrible. He woke up after 4 days of not taking his prescriptions right and hung himself.

We truly believe this was a medical malpractice and mental illness neglect. My daughter now has to live with this and seeing how her father slipped through the cracks of the medical system. She needs therapy, counselling and has lost her house and work. She is battling depression/mental illness/ trauma and will need some help to get back up on her feet. She is left with the expenses of cremation, funeral, therapy and finding a new place to live on top of grieving and scheduling. Please find it in your hearts to help this young woman out so she has a chance to better her future in this time of shock and despair.
