Survival and moving expenses

We need your help surviving the next few weeks - paying our bills, paying for a storage area, and having money for a new apartment. So, what's up?  After being laid off in October, we have been living on Bruce's unemployment. Over the last month, we have been hit by several "normal" bad things. Last night, "normal" became "impossible". We recieved notice that our rent was going up by at least 50%. For the 5 years we have lived here in El Monte, the rent has been $1000 a month. Starting March 1, our rent will be between $1500 and $1850 a month. (In order to get the $1500 rate, we need to sign a new 1 year lease.) This morning, I reread the letter and realized they had also changed our notice period - from 30 days to 60 days (meaning we have to give notice without a new apartment and pray we can find something). About the same time I was realizing that, Bruce was discovering that he won't get a paycheck from his new job (finally starting Tuesday) until the 22nd of January. Between now and then, we will get a total of $1400 in unemployment. From that, we absolutly must pay rent (1000), health insurance (321), and car payment (230). We won't have the money to pay those three, let alone the 500-800 for the other bills. (Not to mention gas, groceries, co-pays, and meds.)  What's more, we need to get a storage area to store stuff as we move. Since I can't carry stuff, that means getting it and paying for it now - so that Bruce can move at least some of the boxes out of the apartment before he starts working full time again. We know most who will learn about this can't afford to give anything - you aren't in any better place than we are. Anything you can give is appreciated.
