Hi Everyone!
My name is Dr. Nicole Williams and I am a surgeon working with Medical Ministry International. I know you're thinking "Why does a rich doctor need to raise money?" Well, I am NOT rich. In fact, I have only been able to work a temporary position to make ends meet since starting my own small medical practice. I have been doing overseas medical missionary work for many years, and since the storm in the Philippines, I feel compelled to go and help where my skills are needed most.
Over the past 3 years, I have been able to donate substantial amounts of my own money to Medical Ministry International to attend at least one mission trip a year. I have been to the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cambodia, and Ghana with my own funds. I was also a featured "Global Activist" on NPR: WBEZ, Chicago Public Radio.
Our Philippines mission is two weeks and will cost $1495. The flight costs are approximately $2230/person to the Philippines. Please see the write-up in the Chicago Sun-Times. Medical supplies and shipping are about $975.
