Surgery to remove Dezzy's cancer

Donation protected
***Dezzy had her chest films done today (5/11) and the cancer hasn't metastasized! We also got a follow-up estimate and we've raised enough to get her surgery that will guarantee clean margins!! Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts <3 Her surgery is scheduled for 5/18 and the prognosis is great. We love you all!***

It's with heavy hearts and a lot of tears that Danny and I have to let you all know that Dezzy has been diagnosed with cancer.  After a mass began growing on her front leg, we took her to the vet and two days ago received the diagnosis of a Mast Cell tumor.

In order to get rid of the cancer and allow Dezzy to live out her years happy and healthy, she needs surgery to remove the tumor. After talking with her vet, we've been given two options for surgery  - one which would remove the tumor but can't guarantee to get clean margins, and a more invasive surgery that assures the entirety of the tumor is removed.  The estimate for the first is $1250 and for the second is $3200. We'd rather be certain the entire tumor is cleanly removed, so our goal is aiming for the more precise option.

If love could pay for surgery, we'd have the funds to cover it a thousand times over. Unfortunately, we can't afford to cover the cost on our own. Dezzy's brought such a huge amount of love, laughs, companionship, and excitement to all of our community. We're asking that anyone who can helps to show her love in return by donating towards her surgery.

Right now, Dezzy is doing well. She's eating and drinking, getting walks three times a day, and cuddling as much as possible. We're giving her a lot of love and making sure she's comfortable and happy. Dez means more to us than I could describe in words, and we're both anxious to get this tumor out of her as quickly as possible.

We understand that times are tough for a lot of people right now. If you can donate, anything will help. There's no amount too small. If you're unable to donate but want to help, sharing this with those you know makes a huge impact as well. Any amount that's raised will go directly to Dez's surgery, and if we surpass our goal, the rest will be donated to BARCS - the organization that brought Dezzy into Danny's life.
