We once again have a plea for help. Nysa is a puppy going on 5 months old. She weighs a little over 4.5 pounds. She is sweet and so loving. Her foster Mom is over the top in love with her. Actually, everyone that comes in contact with her falls in love.
She needs your help. It appears she will need corrective surgery that will require a specialist. It is a very complex surgery and the specialist will fly in to Nogales. The surgery will be performed at Dr. Figueroa's facility. They will have to implant a knee prosthesis and will have to break the femur and repair with a plate. This needs to be done on both legs. It is imperative that this be done while she young, otherwise she will have major problems when she gets older.
A little about Nysa. I (Gwen) was on the phone with Pima County Animal Shelter discussing the picking up of another dog. The agent told me they just had a little dog come in with hurt legs and she was going over to medical. The agent ask if I could check on her when I came for the other dog. I did that and of course she ended coming home with me.
Nysa's paperwork said she was a "stray otc". OTC means she was over the counter. Meaning she was found by someone and taken to the shelter. Many times we have found that owners tend to take their dogs to the shelter saying they found them. In my humble opinion I think this is what happen with Nysa. I could be wrong, but I think she was loved and the owners didn't know what needed to be done to help her or they thought that the shelter would help her.
We want to help Nysa. She is young and could have a wonderful life with this corrective surgery. We are reaching out to you, your friends, your relatives, and everyone else. Please help us campaign to get the funds for Nysa's surgery. She is young and although it's going to be months of recovery, she has a wonderful foster home, and being young will heal fast.
