Endometriosis Surgery Fund for Jade Chanel

I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Endometriosis following a laparoscopy performed by a NHS Gynae surgeon back in 2011. The surgeon mentioned that the extent of the disease was incredibly severe for a 20-year-old patient and that I should strongly consider having children sooner than later if I wished to conceive naturally. They also gave me with a drug called Zoladex. This induced my body into a temporary “menopause” preventing me from having my monthly cycle in aid to promote healing. At the time, i'd not really heard about Endometriosis. I was so shocked to find out how many women actually have to deal with this. That was the lowest I’ve ever felt. I was vulnerable and scared. I got so many side effects, I nearly lost my life becoming addicted to Ibuprofen whilst not receiving HRT, something I was kept in the dark about. I felt completely neglected and dismissed by the NHS.

I spent years just trying my best to manage the pain naturally. A constant stream of examinations, blood tests, A+E admissions, pain meds, heat pads and uncertainty.
Since then, I’ve had a second surgery and numerous scans. I have also been diagnosed with IBS, adenomyosis, fibroids and have multiple complications due to my uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes being stuck to my bowel by adhesions and scar tissue.

At 31 years old, my life has been significantly impacted. I have to take a lot of time off work, cancel appointments, having to cancel plans, not to mention infertility and mental health challenges caused living with a chronic illness. I’m in pain often, it just all depends on how bad it is. It’s hard to plan ahead because I’m not sure if I’ll feel well enough and it does make me feel a lot of guilt and frustration.

I decided to take charge of improving this huge segment of my life by seeking private health care with an Endometriosis specialist. I’d love to live pain free and learn to love my body more than what I have been for so long.

People often say to me, “You’re so strong!” ..“You’re so resilient!”

Honestly, I’m exhausted. I feel physically, mentally and now financially drained. After my business taking a huge hit due to Covid-19, all of my personal funds have been depleted to keep hold of mine and 4 other artists studio space. Vaporwave Tattoo has been such a huge blessing in helping me accept myself.

Fortunately, I was recommended an Endometriosis specialist in the UK called Mr Chris Mann. Mr Mann specialises in the management of advanced endometriosis as a founding member of the Midlands Endometriosis Clinic.  Mr Mann has specialist expertise in gynaecological oncology, the management of advanced endometriosis, and the application of minimal access surgery (laparoscopic/keyhole surgery) to all aspects of gynaecological care.

A few weeks ago I had an MRI scan which was read by a top radiologist for Endometriosis.

After a process of shared decision making, the plan is for me to have a third and FINAL laparoscopy, excision of endometriosis and adhesiolysis to separate my uterus from my bowel and free my ovaries.

The cost of the procedure is £9’998 – this cost covers the hospital fee, Mr Mann’s fee, anaesthetist’s fee, colorectal surgeons fee, post-op follow up fee and pre-assessment fees.
Hopefully, all will go ahead at the end of March, just awaiting confirmation from the hospital.

If you have never suffered chronic pain, to put it lightly, it really does knock your spirit. I can't wait to come out the other side thriving!
I am just so grateful for the love and support.
Thank you so much!
