Surgery For Smoltz

Donation protected
On Monday 04/09/18 my puppy, Smoltz, broke his leg. He was running around, being a complete fool, as many puppy’s do. He got tripped up and took a pretty bad spill. I was on my way home from work when my roommate called and told me. I could tell it was serious by the anxiety in his voice. We spent the next several hours at the emergency vet.

Smoltz broke his humorous, right leg above his elbow. This break cannot be casted and must be surgically repaired to get him back to crazy puppy status again. Unfortunately this surgery is $4000.00-$5000.00. There are two other options. I could have his leg amputated, approximately $3000.00, or the worst option being one I won’t even mention.

I never thought I would need to turn to this sort of thing. If it was my arm I would never look for help to fix it. Unfortunately though Smoltz does not have health insurance, although I will be looking into it after this episode. After many friends and family suggested and advised me to do a gofundme, I decided I would. So, here it is. I appreciate everyone that has helped out so far, and anyone in the future that decides to help. Heck, I appreciate you just reading this.

For all the pet owners that don’t know how expensive a vet bill can be, like me, now you do. Everyone should consider the pet health insurance because how many of us are prepared for an emergency like this.

IF THE AMOUNT OF MONEY NEEDED FOR THE SURGERY IS EXCEEDED EVERY DIME OF THAT WILL BE DONATED TO THE CHARLESTON ANIMAL SOCIETY.
