Surgery for Olive the bulldog baby

When Olive joined our family she was a happy, healthy, 8 week old baby bulldog. Knowing the bulldog breed we always knew there was potential for some illnesses and ailments that come with the breed. But unfortunately they all came at once for our sweet baby bulldog and we are still in shock over this. Currently she is fighting with pneumonia and other brachysephalic issues. Once she wins the fight with this horrible, debilitating pneumonia she needs surgery for her brachysephalic syndrom including an elongated soft palate and trachea hypoplasia. She has also developed cherry eye in both eyes that needs to be fixed as well. Just last week I was told by her DVM and a surgical specialist that her trachea was so small it was unlikely she could survive any anesthetic and if she did live through the surgery she would most likely die a short time later. Even if surgery wasn't done they told me she would slowly die from suffocation from her tiny trachea and she would be suffering . During the evening of October 31st she had her "usual" episode of difficulty breathing and in a puddle of my own tears I prepared to make a decision to end her life by humane euthanasia. I also made an important decision to get a second opinion. On November 1st I took her to a veterinary speciality clinic and thank goodness I did. We had an appointment with the Internal Medicine Vet at Boundary Bay vet specialist and the doctor explained they these were all common issues with the breed and she should be able to undergo surgery once the pneumonia is cleared, but it would need to be done sooner then later or she would continue to get pneumonia and it would be fatal. Needless to say Olive needs the extra care that can be given at the specialist before, during and after her surgery but there is a price to be payed. It's definitely worth it but unfortunately we do not have these funds available at this time. So I am asking for you help. If you can't donate please just share our page :)
