Surgery for GusGus

This summer has been a rough run for our Gussy-boy and his health. My normally goofy, loving ball of chunk lost his pep and then we soon noticed that he was throwing up blood and not eating well. After a few vet visits we took him in for surgery and he had a mass removed from the far back of his tongue. I’ll save you the details, but the biopsy came back relatively inconclusive. They did say that there was a “foreign object” in the middle of the mass that seemed like a hair. We hoped with the removal and amazing stitch up our vet gave us that he would heal nicely and that would be that. Unfortunately, after a few weeks of a seemingly healthy boy, he took a turn for the worse again. 

We were referred to the animal hospital in Saskatoon where we learned that he has a heart murmur, is very anaemic, and needs a blood transfusion at the very least to start to stabilize him before even considering surgery. Our initial price estimate this time round is 3500.00 without including the surgery yet. He needs a lot of love.

Anyone who knows me is aware of how much Ilove my babies. Gus is my little boy, and the passive love-bug who contrasts the wild in the rest of them. Anyone who has ever met him loves him and his gentle nature. I hate asking for help, but with all of the costs from the last surgery mixed with me returning to school full time, I’m feeling the financial pressure. Anything at all helps, and my “goal” is nothing more than a number. Literally any dollar helps.
