Surgery for Alilou

Hello dear friend, I hope this finds you in good health and happiness. This is something that has been weighing on me and I hope you will consider assisting with this good deed. My aunt’s husband Ali (we call him Alilou) has been suffering from Kidney Stones. There are no words to describe his kind beautiful soul. Throughout his life he’s worked hard and may3feesh khadma (isn’t picky with what type of work he does) compared to other people. Most recently (probably before COVID) he used to work for an immigre(if you’re not Algerian, this is the French word for immigrant that Algerians call people who don’t live in Algeria) from Germany I think that was building a supermarket. Alilou was getting paid 1000 DZD (less than 10 dollars) for a whole days work of hard construction labor, coming home drenched in sweat at lunch time and than going back to finish his day (I was there one Ramadan when he was working and was shocked to say the least). This job is on and off as the employer comes and goes from Germany.


It’s been 2-3 months since Alilou has needed the laser surgery to remove the painful kidney stones but currently the one in the hospital is still “out for repair”. Every time I speak to him I get more and more frustrated that he hasn’t gotten treatment. There is a private clinic in Oran that is about 16 million dzd (I think about 800-900 dollars). I’ve had it, and hope with your help he doesn’t have to wait much longer and just go the private route. 5, 10, 20 anything will help his suffering stop.
