Hi everyone. My name is Miss Piggy. Some of you may think that's not so flattering but my foster momma named me that because like a true beagle, I keep my nose to the ground but snort all the while like a little piglet. Plus, Miss Piggy karate chops bad guys! Hi-ya!
I was found wandering the gravel roads out in rural Iowa. A nice lady found me and took me to the vet, scanned for a chip, and posted on lost and found sites. No one claimed me. I was all alone. I had been sleeping in the dirt with no one.
Here's the deal: I have a few mammary tumors. One of which makes it hard for me to walk because it's between my legs. I was probably bred and bred until I developed these issues and then thrown away. And yet, I still love people!
My foster momma thought I was deaf too because I couldn't hear so well but it turns out that my ears are so infected from allergies, they are swollen shut. My feet are so big and swollen from walking alone and from untreated allergies.
I went to the vet today and Dr. Milas at City Line is just the best! She took care of me all day and they're going to remove my tumors and spay me tomorrow. I'm a little scared of the surgery, but I'm gonna be strong. After that, I'm going to be on medication for my allergies and infections. Then I'll go home to my foster family and recover (I love their house - they have so many dog beds!)
The rescue that took me in sure could use a little help with my care. They love animals so much and they took me in to help me even though I'm a "hot mess" as they say. I'm sweet and loving and they believe every life is worth trying to save. Even mine. Even thought I'm broken.
If you could, would you please donate a little bit to my care? To The Moon and Back is a Non-Profit and it's tax deductible.
I really want to live a happy life. People say I'm worth it and hopefully with love, care, and time, I'll believe it too! :)
