Dear friends, families, and even strangers this may reach,

This time last year I brought home my newborn son. The very same day I was discharged, life handed me an unexpected challenge—my sweet dog Chase, tore his right knee (CCL).
Only days into postpartum recovery, I found myself caring for a newborn while my dog underwent TPLO surgery and 4 months of recovery and extensive care.
It was exhausting to say the least, but we got through it together.
❤️

Unfortunately we are still paying off that surgery, and heartbreak has struck us again.
Just recently during light play, Chase’s left hip gave out. We’ve always known he had hip dysplasia in that left hip, and we were told that one day it would need to be addressed.

That “one day” came sooner than we could’ve imagined. Chase now faces challenges as he needs FHO surgery to regain his comfort and mobility. Chase’s breed is well known for these kind of complications of hip dysplasia, unfortunately.

If you’ve ever met my boy, you know he genuinely isn’t just “a dog.” Chase has a larger-than-life personality, that makes people smile instantly.
That makes tears fade immediately. My dog is one of those simple souls who makes the world feel brighter, and mine feel fuller.

Between caring for my little one as a stay at home mom, managing everyday expenses, and still paying for his last surgery, I can’t cover this one entirely on my own.

Chase is only 3 years old, and he deserves a long happy life.
We are not done yet.
We have plans of frisbee league, hikes, and more beaches to discover. With him being younger, chances of making a full recovery are much more greater.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and from the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me take care of my best friend. Whether you’re able to donate, share, or even send encouragement, it truly means the world.

With love,
Sandra and family.
