Surgery and Medical for Cooper
Our little boy recently had to undergo immediate surgery because of a blockage in his intestine. He wasnt able to pass this material, so the doctors had to go in and spend hours trying to remove material that became coiled all the way through his small intestine. The surgery was successful, but some complications arose and the dr had to make a small cut to allow the organs to go back to normal places, and this left some slightly damaged. We were informed that if Kaitlyn hadn't brought him in when she did, he would not have survived the night. He is currently in ER post op care and recovering, but under close watch because they are unsure of his stability while they try and get him to eat and then pass food successfully.
We have already recieved so much love and support from friends and family, and all those who have shared time with Cooper. However, after all the care and help he has needed we've become extremely stretched financially in covering his existing bills, with the fear it may take more and raise the cost. We are already facing costs for surgery, time, meds etc of $5,000+ with a potential increase if (we hope not with all of our hearts) something takes a turn in the wrong direction.
We are all in tough times and this was something that was tough for me to create, but sometimes we need the help from our extended family and community around us. There is not so much an end goal, as just any little bit helps us in such a massive way. Especially being around the holidays I don't want to put anyone out, but if there is anything you can do to help us and hope for the recovery of our super sweet pup.
In advance Kaitlyn and I are sending out the biggest love and gratittude to eveyone around us being so thoughtful and caring during these times. I will be posting updates over the next few days, hopefully he will remain stable and continue to get stronger. We were able to see him today, he was very hazy and weak, but was able to drink some water and sit with us for a short while. It was heartbreaking to see him so fragile but we know he's with very good people.
