Surgeries for Zoey

Donation protected
Hello my dear friends.  I had a very unfortunate thing happen to my puggle (Zoey).  She was recently attacked by my larger dog and was rushed to animal critical care. A stranger was knocking at the door soliciting and the dogs went crazy. The bigger dog (Clover) and Zoey had been together since pups. We found a new home for Clover, but I would have never thought in a million years this could happen. When Zoey arrived at critical care, her right eye ball was out of its socket along with many deep punctures around the neck which included her salivary gland also pulled from her neck area.  She had very low blood pressure and had lost a lot of blood. She was tested and found that she also had swelling of the brain.  Initially, the game plan was to operate on her and try to save her eye. Estimated to be $2800-$3100.  When they found her brain was swelled, amongst other issues, they didn’t think she would make it through the surgery or even through the night.  Concerned she may have brain damage or punctures in her skull, they kept her under observation and worked on getting the swelling down.  The next day, there was some good news, swelling went down and blood pressure almost normal.   Unfortunately, tests were done on her eye and it was not responsive.  The plan now was to remove her right eye, also charging my credit card another $2000.  Surgery went well that evening and plan was to release her the next day.  Day 3, Zoey wasn’t eating and keeping it down, she would throw it all back up.  Doctors were worried that she would get pneumonia if released but not able to eat and take her 8 different meds.  She was kept until 5th day, where she is eating and not throwing up.  Released with strict guidance on diet and 8 different meds that she needed to take. My vet bill now at $8000 for the additional nights of 24 hour care needed. Zoey has been getting better and better by the day.  She had a lot of scabbing going on around her neck and eye area.  Doctors were hoping that new skin would push the bad skin off naturally.  She went to a follow-up appointment to see what the status was on the dried up, scabbing on her head and neck area.  Doctors now are saying that the skin is dead and is not rejuvenating like they had hoped.  Now, the plan is to operate on her again to remove her right ear, canal area and remove the dead skin so she can heal naturally.  Quoted $2200 for this procedure.  By the time I post this, the surgery should have taken place.  My Zoey is 6 years old.  I got her 6 years ago after I lost my dad to lung cancer at 68, then a month later, lost my 11-year-old Rottie.  This dog has helped me through some of the toughest times in my life.  My bills just passed $10k… and am hoping this surgery goes well and she can now heal and be back to her normal self.  As I type this, she is laying at my right side and continuously looking back at me.  I love this little girl with all of my heart. My friends told me to do this “Go Fund Me” site.  I am not one to reach out and ask for help, but am always offering it. I am not asking for millions of dollars, just a little help. If for some miracle I am able to pay these bills with the help of you, any other money raised over will go toward a charitable fund raiser that involves helping pets in this same situation.  Thank you for your kind consideration helping Zoey and Me and God bless.
