Fund Drive for Sound Equipment and Operations: The Warming House needs your help!
The Warming House has had a great first year of operations! We hosted 150 shows and another 150 community events (like open mics, jams and songwriting workshops). Our room sounds fantastic, we have a wonderful and growing group of members and volunteers, our staff and board is doing amazing work, the performers are lovely and performances have been spectacular! It has truly been a magical year!
What’s missing? A portion of funding we were hoping to secure. Our budget includes three buckets of funding resources: (1) ticket revenue (about 80% of which goes to the performers); (2) donations, sponsorships and memberships; and (3) grants. We have hit our goals on the first two, but are missing that critical third component: grants.
Why? Well, we’ve learned that a large percentage of grantors require a nonprofit to be in operation for at least 2 years before they are eligible to apply for funding. We are about a year short of that mark, and so need to fill that gap in our funding until we qualify for the appropriate grants.
That’s where you come in: please help us raise funds to fill this gap until we are able to secure a grant or two! We want to continue to maintain and improve our ability to provide an amazing space to listen to music and perform music, and an exceptional environment to learn about and grow in the music craft. Help us in our ongoing work of building a legendary venue that provides magical performance experiences and educational experiences for performers and listeners alike.
Your contribution will allow us to:
- Secure necessary equipment and replace failing and borrowed equipment (mic stands, mics, cables, hardware, office equipment), including:
- monitors
- large diaphragm stage mics
- additional instrument and vocal mics
- stands, cables, and related equipment
- Obtain improved cooling and airflow systems
- Pay expenses (utilities, rent, staff wages, PRO fees, license fees, insurance)
Fear not: this will not be a perpetual fund drive! We are confident that within a year or so we will be able to secure grants that will fill these current gaps. So please give now – this is when we need you. And we really do need you.
