Help Me Save The Sea Lions

This year California rescue centers have been inundated with over five times their usual amount of sea lion pup strandings and rescues.  This means over 100 animals in their facilities at one time!  The aquarium I volunteer with has offered to help by encouraging staff and volunteers like myself to go out and assist.  This is where YOU can help!  I'm looking for your support to help send me out there for a week!

A little about me...

I have been working towards my goal of becoming a marine mammal (seals, dolphins, whales) trainer since I graduated high school in 2005.  I have interned with facilities such as the Buffalo Zoo, Aquarium of Niagara, and Dolphin Discovery where I learned all about these amazing animals.  I worked for two years as an Animal Care and Necropsy (animal autopsy) Tech with the former Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center (MARC) in Biddeford, ME. At MARC I saw first hand the struggles facing our wild populations, and the difference our efforts cans and do make!  Currently  I am working as a dog and animal trainer, and have been volunteering with marine mammals for almost 3 years.  


Trip Information:

Dates: Friday, April 3rd to Friday April 10th.

Costs I am seeking your support with:
-Airfair (Approx. $500)
-Hotel for 7 nights ($80/night, a discounted rate for volunteers. $560 total. I am hoping I might be able to share a room but time will tell! )
-Rental Car (Approx. $300+ $100 gas)
-Meals (Approx. $200)


I know that my collective experience will be very useful to the California rescue groups. This is an amazing opportunity!  It's a chance to really make a difference for these animals and our future generations of marine mammals.  Your donations will go directly to helping me support real live wild animals in need!  So who wants to help me help them?
