Jahng Family Fire Relief Fund

Our parents Daniel and Sungmie recently lost their home of 27 years to the Thomas Fire in Ventura. We grew up in this home, and sadly almost everything was left behind during the evacuation. Tasked with the huge financial and emotional cost of starting from scratch, our folks have their health, their faith, and each other - the best and most important things. However, insurance will only cover a portion of the projected costs of rebuilding their home, which is why we're asking for your help.

Daniel and Sungmie have lived in Ventura for over 30 years, and they have been selfless in their generosity in supporting their immediate community and beyond. They are actively involved at a grassroots level, without regard for any recognition: they've donated their time and money to organize clothing and food drives for local homeless and women's shelters; they've established scholarships for international students and North Korean refugees seeking a better life here in the States; Sungmie is well-known for playing the harp and for her cooking skills, donating her time and resources over the years to provide music and meals for local school, sports, and church events. Every year, they travel to Mexico with a missions team to provide food and hope to communities in need; Daniel has traveled around the world - Mexico, Russia, Africa - to donate his time and skill as a dentist for communities without access to basic health care. This is just a partial list, but we hope it provides a window into their lifelong commitment to activism and philanthropy.

Daniel and Sungmie have been and continue to be so compassionate, generous, and selfless, and we would love to help them in their time of need.
